There are many ways to update KPI values, including Simple Value Imports, Standard Value Imports, and even Automatic Imports From Datasets. The simplest way to update KPI values by far, however, is just typing them into the software.
Scorecards Overview
On the Scorecards Overview tab you can click the "Update KPI Values" button in the corner of the "KPI and Threshold Values" panel.
This allows you to update all of the KPI values in the period you have selected in the calendar period selector.
Marking a period as N/A usually ignores that KPI in calculations and score rollups.
You can disable the ability to update KPIs with N/A values, which is covered in the App Administration: Scorecard Scoring article.
Home > Update KPIs
On the KPI Updates page you can quickly update all of the KPIs that you have been assigned to as an Updater.
There are a few extra controls on this page to make it easier to update large numbers of KPIs.
- The filter control allows you to filter by organization as well as KPI calendar period.
- You can upload a spreadsheet with KPI values rather than typing in the values by hand.
Requiring Notes for Red Updates
By default, Spider Impact never requires a note when updating KPI values. There's a setting in the Scorecards pane of Application Administration, however, where you can set a scoring threshold for requiring notes.
If you attempt to enter a value that will cause the KPI to have a score below this threshold, the software will require a note to be entered for that calendar period. This ensures that all poor KPI performance has an explanation.
